Thanks, Mom!

Dear, Mother Nature:

I wanted to let you know how much I’ve noticed and appreciate your kindness the past few days. The close-to 40-degree weather. The melting snow. The sunshine. The rain. Oh, the glorious rain.

It warms my heart, really. I take back the mean things I said about you last month. I’ll probably say them again when March brings more snow, but for now I want us to be friends again. Leave the past in the past. No grudges. Let bygones be bygones.

I know a lot of this has to do with your on-again, off-again man-friend, Global Warming. He’s not that popular with certain people around these parts, but sometimes I like the perks of having him around. I might have to eat those words if the polar ice caps ever truly drop into the ocean and I can’t get the ark built in time. But for now, that’s just good lookin’ out, Global. The always cold girl with low blood pressure and poor circulation sitting at her desk with a space heater and two sweaters thanks you.

Expect more correspondence from me when the cold, slushy white stuff comes up to my car doors again and the flu bug again bites me. But for now, take care. Keep it warm, er, real.

  1. Don’t forget about Father Time. He fixes everything, including bad weather!

  2. I dream of making a T-shirt that says, “Are you prepared for Global Warming?” on the front. On the back it will have a giant margarita and underneath say, “I am.”
